I applied online, soon got an email to do the online assessment and the next day got an email saying that they wanted me to come in for an interview. I went online and chose a time to go in. Of course, I went on Glassdoor to prepare; wrote down all of the questions and came up with my own answers. I went in for an interview and no one was there to interview me! However, a lovely pharmacist took down my details and said that the manager will call me the next day. A few days passed and she didn't call, so I called her and we sorted another time for an interview. I went in and this time she was there - I only had to wait 10 minutes or so for her to call me into a small room. I had brought my passport and she took down the details she needed and gave it back. She asked me about my availability and most/all of her questions were scenario questions, e.g. "why do you want to work for boots", "when was a time you had to work to a deadline", "a time when you went above and beyond to help someone", etc. This was my first job interview, so planning beforehand was really helpful, but one question I couldn't answer and she said that was fine and moved on. After this, she took me onto the shop floor (a really small shop) and asked me to find the product that I had been asked to prepare for before the interview. I chose an Aussie conditioner and she asked me how I would sell it to a teenager (or an elderly lady, I can't remember) and a mother with a child. She then asked me to find an area of display that could be improved which caught be off-guard because I expected her to give me one, but I was still prepared for what to say. Nevertheless, I chose one and said what I would do if I had time to improve it. We went back to the room and she said she has two more people to interview and I will know in about 3 days. I waited a week and called the store myself and again, they took my details and said she'll call. I also emailed the recruitment team and they said that I will know within a week, which also didn't happen. So, after about 2 and a half weeks after the interview I got an email with the subject line 'Confidential' and I knew I hadn't got it. They said they were impressed with my assessment and interview but my availability didn't match their needs.
