Applied online which was easy and I got sent the online assessment within a few hours which was also very straight forward. After this I was offered an interview, again fairly quickly. On the day of my interview I went into the Witchurch Boots store and asked for my interviewer at the desk. I was shown out back into their break room. The interviewer and myself sat down and I was asked a few questions about myself then about 8 interview questions, mainly situation based questions. At the end of the interview I was told they would inform me of their decision soon, this was Fri 13th March (bad luck I know!)... after a week of nothing I emailed boots HR after three emails they had still not replied to me. Finally on Fri 27th March I had a phonecall from my interview saying that she still had not filled the position and for me to pop to the store so they could photocopy my NVQ2 certificate, when I popped down she once again said she would be in touch soon. The following week I finally got a reply from HR, saying they had not heard form the store. So by the end of that week I still had not heard anything from the store and again emailed HR on the 9th April.. three weeks since my interview. They rang me Friday 10th April and said they had rang the store and the hiring manager had still not decided but that she would definitely ring me over the weekend of her decision. So Monday came and no call again. I rang HR on the Monday and a rude woman said that they would never have told me that they would definitely call... and that she would again ring the store and inform me of what she hears. The evening of Monday 13th April, now exactly a month after my intial interview the HR lady rang me back to say the hiring manager had STILL not made her choice and would again definitely ring me withing the next 48 hours. Surprisingly Wednesday came (48 hours) and nothing. So again I rang HR and again they said they would look into it. On Thursday 16th April, a month and 3 days after my interview I had a phonecall from my interviewer.. who informed me (without an apology of this phonecall being a month late) that they had decided to hire internally, not externally, why they could not have told me this before I have no idea and why it took this long to make that decision again no idea. Anyway, overall the experience was awful, stressful, unprofessional and extremely rude. So interview candidates if you have not heard from your interview after a week do not worry they will let you know in a month!
