I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (Christchurch, England) in Mar 2015
Interview
Did an online assessment which I passed. Then received an email inviting me to an interview at the store I was applying for. I was asked about 10 questions in total mainly about How would I handle a difficult situation. What makes a good team member etc.
Then I was asked to think of one product they sold in store and I had to give reasons as to why I liked it. So I said it's good value for money, well packaged, does the job.
Then I was asked to look around the store and find anything I would improve. So I tidied products, replaced fallen tags.
A week later I had a phone call offering me the position.

Question 1
What Makes a good team member?
How would you handle a difficult situation?
How would you keep yourself motivated on a quiet day?
Just standard interview questions to check competency. Felt like a normal conversation nothing too invasive. Just things like that when was one time you delivered excellent customer service or how to do so.

Give one time you offered excellent customer service
Not bad, as long as you’re confident, they were very welcoming. It was a bit lengthy but I enjoyed it and come out feeling postive, it’s overall just to see if you’d be a good fit
Quick and easy. Standard retail interview. Was asked to talk about one of their products, to talk about myself. Was asked about my availability too. Good luck if you’re applying!
