I applied online. I interviewed at Boots (Leeds, England) in Aug 2013
Interview
Applied online and completed an online task, then asked to come in for an interview in store. There was an interview with the store manager which took approximately 20 minutes and then a number of shop floor tasks with another member of staff. This included recommending products for different scenarios, and choosing a product to sell to the member of staff, discussing its benefits etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would you recommend for a customer looking for a gift for a relative who had just come out of hospital? And what questions would you ask?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
