I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (Staines, England) in Aug 2015
Interview
I got to the shop and informed someone that I was there and she took me to the office where I would have my interview. The person who was interviewing me entered about 5 minutes later and he was very friendly! He asked me about 5 general questions about my experiences and then about my availability (I was looking for a weekend job).
Then he took me down to the shop floor and asked about the product that I was told to think about in an email I received prior to the interview. Note: he said that it should be a boots product which luckily I picked! I picked a tea tree and witch hazel spot wand as I have used it before. Then he told me find customers and ask how they were doing and if they needed any help. I started up a conversation with a very nice lady who was going on holiday and needed help with choosing a suncream. Next I had to go and find a product in the store and talk about my experience finding this product. I found this a little strange but I kinda winged it and all was fine!
My interviewer took be back to the office and we just had a general chat and then he said it was done! It only took about 20 minutes!
2 hours later I got a phone call offering me a Sunday position which I was hoping for anyway!
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
