I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Boots in Aug 2015
Interview
Filled in an application on the website. Was contacted the next day to complete an online assessment and the day after that to offer me an interview for the following week. Lady who interviewed me was different to who it was supposed to be but she was lovely and really made me feel at ease. Was asked a bit about myself, previous retail experience and a few competency questions relating to customer service etc. Then was taken onto the shop floor and was asked a few questions there such as how would you make this aisle better if you had time (pull things forward and face them the right way, make sure the labels were correct etc). I was given a scenario where a girl has lost the shine in their hair and was asked what questions I would ask her (her hair type, her budget, what she was using before, if she used any heat products on her hair) I was then told to pick a product from the store and explain why I picked it and if I would sell it in a different way to an older woman than I would a teenager and how I would do this.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Describe a time that you've dealt with a difficult customer
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
