The hiring process is pretty simple, filling in the boots application form just about you, general details etc.. Later on I received an email saying I had passed the application stage, and was to complete a online assessment. The online assessment I also found fairly easy, filling in questions to certain situations.. It took me like 15 minutes. Few days on I received an email saying I had passed that stage, and they wanted to meet for an interview. I booked myself in a week on so I had time to prepare.
So I arrived a little early and went to sign myself in. Someone from the counter took me in the stores canteen, which was really awkward if I'm honest haha! Then a lady came and got me, so I was polite obviously, made eye contact etc.. We went to the interview room. She asked me a few questions which I didn't expect.. Which I will state below. After this she took me to the shop floor and took me to the hair care section. Here she asked me how would I approach a teenager who looked confused picking up many products.. I said the obvious, ask her if she would like any help, be polite, smile, engage.. I then said if she were to say she was looking for something I would proceed to ask further questions to ensure I would provide the customer with the correct product, for example, what hair type? Etc.. She then asked me to identify confident and non confident shoppers in the store, and I had to explain why? So for example there was a lady who went straight to a product, picked it up and went towards the till, I said she was a confident shopper as she knew what she wanted etc.. She then asked me to interact with customers, so I did, none of them wanted help it was really arkward at time cause some people looked at me like who are you? Haha but I kept my calm and smiled.. She asked me how I would change an isle and make it better in 15 minutes, so I mentioned pulling products forward, tickets, tidying.. On the way back to the office she asked me what product I had chosen which appeals to me personally. I choose the soap and glory righteous butter. She told me to sell her the product so I just spoke about it, the smells, the benefits, price, good quality brand.. Then we went back to the office where she offered me the job there and then :-) :-) I have my induction in a week! So yeah, it was pretty easy it's just the nerves what can get you! I hope this helps someone!
