I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Boots
Interview
Fairly straightforward and quick. Met with assistant manager and had one-to-one interview for about 15 minutes where I was asked about previous experience and situations i'd been in that would help in the job. Then I was taken onto the shop floor and asked to sell a product (had received email prior to interview telling me to prepare this, so it wasn't a shock) and how i'd sell this to a variety of customers e.g. young mother, older person etc. I would recommend choosing something that is frequently on offer (makes it easier to sell!) and something that appeals to both males and females. Finally, I was asked what I would do to improve an area of the store. The manager was friendly and made me feel at ease - had a laugh and talked about where we were from. Generally, really good interview experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you have gone above and beyond for a customer.
How could you improve this area?
What areas of the store do you think people would like help with? What areas do you think they would prefer to shop alone in?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
