When I arrived they were not at all prepared for any interviews and said people had been turning up unexpectedly all week. - Never in my life have I turned up to an interview which the interviewer did not know about!
Since they were not expecting me I was awkwardly left to wait in a staff room for half an hour with a young employee who was crying her eyes out and a woman eating her lunch.
I was then taken up to an office where I gave some personal details, and when asked, I explained the position I had applied for (Christmas customer assistant for Central Manchester stores).The woman seemed confused and said this did not include her store. She said she would not interview me as it would be a waste of both of our time and sent me home. - Which was annoying as it had taken me all morning to travel there.
I phoned the careers team when I got home who said they would look into it and that someone would get back to me shortly - which they never did. I then emailed several times before I eventually got a reply telling me that only the store I went to was hiring and so I must have gone to a different store?!
I have since attempted to enquire further about what happened but have yet to hear back. A true nightmare.
