I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (London, England) in Jan 2016
Interview
It was a very daunting interview process. I applied. Got shortlisted for their online assessment. I cleared that, but I didn't get selected for the next stage, as the vacancy had been filled up. A month later, they sent the email that I had been selected for the next stage, as they had an opening. I was called for an interview, which lasted for an hour and half. In the entire process, the hiring manager did not make me feel relaxed even for a bit. He seemed very cold and his response to my every question was "ok. thank you" It was so weird. I had no idea how I had performed. I was sure to be rejected. So it was a surprise when they called me back the very next day for joining! I found out later that the managers are trained to not give in any reactions! Which I find really silly in all honesty. Its almost as if they want you to fail! Any how, I started working this week, and the team seems very friendly. So all in all it worked out for me.
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
