I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies (San Mateo, CA) in Dec 2011
Interview
It began with a coding assignment which will be available for 2 weeks. Once you start, it has to be finished in a 48-hour period. Then I went through 3 phone interviews, one technical, one behavior, and one ad-hoc. It ended up with an in-house interview. For the in-house one, in the morning, there were several 1:1 interviews, mostly technical; for the whole afternoon, I was working on a coding assignment.
The whole interview process was fine. People working there all seem nice. They reimbursed all my traveling expenses. Only one negative thing: after the in-house interview, it took me more than 2 months to hear their final decision.
As a start-up, they are quite picky about both your personality and coding skills. The phone interviews were more about personality check, while the in-house one was more about coding.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Common personality and behavioral questions, e.g. your strengths and weakness, sth your former manager would comment on you, etc.
There are 3 rounds in the interview process. First, you need to finish a coding assignment in 48 hours. It contains 2 questions about test plans and test cases. If you pass the first round, you will have the phone interview and on site interview. I did not pass the first round.

4. On-site
- three turn of tech interview, around 40 minutes each, mostly focus on test case design and network

Plus, I would like to talk about reimburse form. HR sent the reimburse form to me and said it will take 1 month to reimburse. After 2 month, I have not got the reimburse. I talked to other people who was interviewed at same day, and none of them got the reimburse. I emailed HR, and no feedback. I only request money of airport shuttle and one dinner. It make me very uncomfortable.

Interview
There're three rounds of interview. The first round is a 48 hours long online assignment; the second round is a phone interview; the third round is on-site interview. My assignment is to write a test plan to test two websites, one of them is a news website, the other one is related to form validation. I didn't pass the first round even though I though my assignment was done well.
