I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2015
Interview
I met a recruiter at my university's career fair in late October, which helped me to establish my initial contact with the company. I was contacted a month later by a recruiter to have an informal 20 minute interview. Since I was interested in working in their Chicago office, I was then put in contact with the manager in Chicago, where I was interviewed after Winter Break specifically for a position in the Chicago office. I was then prompted to take an online assessment to test my knowledge and basic understanding of sales/SEO. After satisfactorily completing the assessment, I was invited to a career day in February.
All and all, the interview process was sloppy. The recruiters dropped the ball a couple of times on scheduling interviews for me by scheduling them on days and times different than the ones we agreed upon. Furthermore, the scheduling of my career day was botched once before a successful scheduling. I eventually flew out to their Chicago office, instead of the usual visit to San Mateo. This made for a peculiar career today, as this event that was normally supposed to have lasted most of a day turned into a mere 45 minute interview. This was irritating since I had flown out to Chicago and back to have an interaction that could have just as easily been done via Skype. Contact with the recruiters to arrange this career day was difficult and it would often take days for them to respond.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What part of this sales job will be the most difficult for you?
I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies (San Mateo, CA)
Interview
I went through 2 rounds of phone interviews. The first was with a recruiter who responded very quickly after I had applied and was very professional/helpful with tips for the position. The second interviewer wasn't very friendly & had a really uninterested demeanor over the phone. It felt like she had a million other things that she preferred to be doing.
Ultimately, I never heard back from anyone (which I guess fits in with the second interview's result). I found it unprofessional because the second interviewer did specifically mention that someone would at least reach out to confirm what the result was. I worked hard on the interview preparation & truly respected the company, so I just found it in very bad taste to not even provide some closure for a candidate. Not offering a job is fine, but I just think it's a sign of bad character to not even follow up with someone when 1) you said that you would and 2) the candidate really respected the company.

Question 1
In one sentence, how would you describe the BrightEdge platform?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies (New York, NY) in Oct 2016
Interview
After applying, a BrightEdge recruiter reached out to me to see if I would be a good fit to recommend to the company. The recruiter then helps you prepare for both your initial phone interview and if all goes well, you must pass an online skills test regarding SEO and organic search. After passing that, they invite you in for an in person interview with a round of managers and VP of sales. You could tell the company really cares about who they hire and are looking for the smartest and most coachable people to join their team. I came into the interview with sales experience but little to no knowledge of SEO.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself. Why BrightEdge? Why Sales? How would you handle an objection? Describe a time when you were struggling and how you overcame it. A lot of standard interview questions, but also a few challenging ones that really make you think.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies (San Mateo, CA) in Feb 2016
Interview
initial interview consisted of 3 steps, the first was a phone screen with the recruiter that just asked basic questions like why BE, why sales, etc.... The second was a second more in-depth phone interview with a manager. And third was an in person interview with several employees in different sales roles, such as an Enterprise Business Rep, a Sales Manager, an AE, and VP of Sales. Definitely an eye-opening and insightful interview process - BrightEdge gives you a real account of what to expect in the role, and also what they expect out of someone the the EBR role.
