I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at BrowserStack (Mumbai) in Dec 2020
Interview
Mature organizations conduct the interview process in a more professional manner, which unfortunately wasn't the case when I was interviewed for an AE position at BrowserStack. I completed all the rounds of interviews, including a 'final' HR round on the 15th of December 2020. I haven't heard anything back from them and when I followed up on the 19th of January (a month later, with a couple of followups in between), the response I received is "The headcount has been finalized"
Communication is a very important aspect of any company and when that goes for a toss, the experience would be very bad. There has to be a proper headcount and hiring plan charted before a company actually interviews anyone. Growth comes by default when processes are mature. Excessive growth without proper planning and execution of processes will lead to these kinds of experiences. To all the interview candidates, if you do not want to wait for a company's response, either do not attend the interview or withdraw from the interview process altogether. If you continue to wait for their response and if it doesn't come, you'll be the only person disappointed. P.S: There is no mistake of the recruiter. It's just the fragile internal processes and the lack of strong decision making leadership.
