I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Celonis (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter over Linkedin.
- Quick screening call (20-30 min)
- SQL test and a Cognify assessment (20-30 min)
- Challenge & Preparation -- I was given instructions for the interview challenge and access to the Celonis LMS where I completed a training course for the challenge. The training was time-consuming, but gave me a good understanding of the tool and helped me prepare for the challenge. I spent about 10 hours prepping for the interview (including the LMS courses).
- Challenge presentation to manger and 2 employees (30 min) -- they asked some questions during the presentation, but nothing too challenging.
- Offer
The recruiter was always quick to follow up with me, and was clear about the interview process from the start. I appreciated their transparency and efficiency.

Scenario based questions: Have you ever been in a certain situation and how did you handle it? How do you handle difficult clients? How well can you perform alone in a pressure scenario?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Celonis (San Diego, CA) in Feb 2022
Interview
HR screening, SQL assessment, one-on-one interview, then the "Celonis Challenge". For the challenge you must take a 3 hour class and then create a presentation for them. During the presentation I was not given ample opportunity to show what I did learn as they were asking questions about things that were not covered in the 3 hour class I completed. Don't play games with candidates. What a complete and total waste of my time.
