I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cencora (Orlando, FL) in Apr 2023
Interview
I had a 45 minute video interview scheduled with the Director. As soon as her video turned on, I could see that she was not a friendly person. She asked about my previous experience and the volume of accounts I worked with. She appeared to not believe anything I said. As the interview went on I made up my mind to withdraw my application. There is no amount of pay that I could be offered to work with her. My mental health is priority over everything and it was clear working directly with her would be extremely stressful.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cencora in Mar 2023
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter who said the company was looking to fill the position. Time to review application and email me a Teams interview was very quick with them wanting to interview immediately. Initially was sent a team panel interview, but instead, the director based out of Atlanta, who was the only one who showed. Interviewer had zero interview skills and was borderline hostile. Never asked me about myself and did not ask your normal behavior type interview questions. I also was not allowed to ask any questions about the company or the role. She never discussed her company or their goals/mission. She asked me three times what I was to my current company as if I were lying about my active employment. Then asked me three times in a row about why I would want to leave the company to obtain a new position. I had to repeat myself multiple times. She didn't seem to be listening half the time and the other half was coming up with ways to trip me up. It did not feel like an interview but an interrogation. The interviewer is extremely short-sighted, thinking about their department alone instead of realizing they are a representative of their entire organization. I nearly withdrew my application, but I had agreed to a second interview with the onsite manager the next morning. I decided since I had agreed to the interview, I would continue, but went into it considering my imminent withdrawal. The second manager was much more civil and pleasant. However, the onsite manager admitted she had only worked for them for a few months and that the team had gone from 10 people down to 4 people recently. Manager also warned the position was "very fast-paced". With their pay range off par with similar roles, the militant director, and an improper balance in their workforce- no wonder they are hurting for people. Rather than withdraw, I left the application open and was notified via recruiter a couple of days later they had gone a different direction which was honestly fine by me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What collections experience do you have? What are your typical short pay reasons? What are you to your company? So is there a reason your company is... ? Like what is the deal with your position? Oh, so you are an active employee? Why are you wanting to leave? Why would you try to get a different position? But why would you want to leave after 10 years?
