I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Center For Discovery (Fremont, CA)
Interview
I met with the Program Director on-site for a one-on-one interview. I was asked about my educational background and work history. My responses were honest and probably successful because they highlighted an eager desire to learn and use this opportunity as a launchpad to a higher degree in counseling/psychological services. As a recent grad with only a Bachelors degree, it was understood why I had few real-world, relevant experiences to draw upon. I can't recall many specific questions asked but I recall feeling like my answers were less important than my interpersonal skills and ability to engage while in an uncomfortable, high-stakes situation.

1. How would you describe your relationship with food? 2. What do you know about eating disorders and/or treatments?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Center For Discovery (Fremont, CA) in May 2019
Interview
Very straight-forward. Obviously depends on your interviewer but most candidates typically meet with the facility manager and/or the program manager on site. I was given a clear overview of what my role would consist of, what the various staff’s responsibilities were outside of counseling roles, the company’s expectations, and some transparency regarding the realities of working in a mental health facility.
