I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH) in May 2016
Interview
Short phone call with recruiter to figure out where I would best, discussed hourly pay, scheduling. A few general interview questions - a time when you handled conflict, time when you had to act quick...things like that. In person interview was with 2 nurse managers, their questions were still very general and they gave me more of the job description (I had experience with patient care) so we discussed that. Afterwards you’re given an opportunity to shadow the unit (stay for at least 30 minutes to an hour) then you wait for your phone call. My manager went on vacation after my interview so my process after was slightly different and longer because of that.
I will tell you that once you get the job there is a fitness like test, it’s a resistance chair to test your strength. It’s tricky and I thought I failed because the harder you push the harder it pushes back. My best advice is to literally give it your all.
I thankfully didn’t get lost. They gave you a validation for parking. It wasn’t what I expected and everyone was very nice. The person who interviewed me was very kind and easy to talk too!
