Had a phone screen after being approached by their internal recruiter on LinkedIn. He explained a lot about the company and the role. After confirming I was still interested, he sent me video interview questions (read other reviews about this uncomfortable process!). After completeing the videos, I was then told i would have a written assignment to complete (sample email scenarios as well as a sample event tonplan) and a second phone screen with someone else in HR. The woman in HR called me 15 minutes late. She asked fairly basic/standard interview questions, including those already covered in the videos. At the end of the call she invited me to a “recruiting event” where they host candidates that are applying for all roles for dinner and then interview them (rotate through various executives essentially). I decided to attend even though at this point I was starting to faulter in my interest based on the process. The night of the event most people were very friendly but I was kept waiting an hour and 20 minutes to talk with the same HR woman as my phone screen. She spoke with me for 15 minutes and asked essentially the same questions, and didn’t think I had completed my videos. During my wait, some of the others told me this role had been open approx. 14 months. When I asked the HR woman about this during our brief time together, she got a bit defensive. I was told I would meet the CEO next but before that could happen, the recruiter that I did the phone screen with approached me and told me I could go home. He said that the HR woman did not think I’d be a good fit but that I had an excellent resume that he would be willing to pass along to his other HR contacts. I appreciated not having any more of my time wasted. It’s a shame that this company, with such a wonderful mission, has a blind spot when it comes to their recruiting/hiring process. I’m giving this a negative rating mostly because of the HR woman who was late for the call, and then made me wait over and hour for the in-person interview. She obviously wasn’t prepared nor does she like to be asked questions that may make her a bit uncomfortable.
