Interview
The interview was a balanced mix of technical rigor and friendliness. It tested my mathematics and physics skills thoroughly, presenting challenging problems, while managers and team members maintained a supportive, approachable environment.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DUG (Kuala Lumpur) in Aug 2018
Interview
Got two session. Phone call and face to face interview.
Phone call
Interview session is very casual. Recruiter asked about past experience. Also she did asked something to know whether you fit with the position or not. Overall, recruiter is very kind and understanding.
Interview face to face
Manager ask lots about basic seismic. you need to equip yourself with the basic concept itself. there was like test too. they give a paper with questions. it could be formula, concept and calculation. Overall manager is very versatile, he let you be you, prefer accuracy and efficiency in an answer, direct and straightforward answer.
I did not get the job maybe because he prefer someone who has logical thinking over creative thinking. I am lateral/non linear thinker and used to brainstorm lots of answers for one open ended question, but Mr Manager prefer someone who has a linear thinking and can generate the most accurate answer/solution. Next, maybe I didn't pass their requirement which are attention to detail, organized and able to produce accurate work.
Face to Face
1. what is different reflection and refraction
2. Why the seismic signal behave in certain way.
3. Why we convert fourier series into Fourier transform.
