This may be a long review but the experience I had with Eagleview was very unique and difficult. First, after you apply, you are sent a link to take a cognitive test. If you pass this test HR calls you and schedules a meeting, through Skype, so you can take the same test again while being monitored by the HR person. I found this interesting as it indicated to me, as a candidate, that there is a lack of trust. Once I passed this test I was contacted, about a week later, to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager. This phone interview went well and the position, which was going to be a new position in the company representing a new product, was explained and expectations were provided. Another week passed and I was asked to come to their office, in Rochester NY, for a series of 5 interviews. Once I arrived I was met with the HR person who explained the day’s schedule and who I would be meeting with. The interviews, with the exception of one, went very well. The one that went a bit off track was with the VP of sales who smelled of alcohol and was extremely disheveled. He began the interview explaining that he did not have time to review my file and that the position was new so internally they still did not have a grasp on reporting structure or how the new position would fit within the current go to market strategy. I got the impression he was a bit bitter about this new role and found it to be competitive to he and his team. He explained that I would be, more than likely, calling on existing customers and competing for limited funds. He asked how I would handle a situation where the customer wanted the solution I was representing which would adversely affect his team’s revenue. I simply expressed that I did not find this to be a fair question as this situation would be, in my opinion, a company issue that would need to be addressed by management. He was apparently offended by this response as he raised his voice and said” this is a fair question” I attempted to explain my position and that if the company has not thought this through then this situation should probably be addressed prior to moving forward. As this interview ended, which was the last, I was met by the HR person’s assistant and told I would here back within 5 days regarding next steps. After ten days, I sent a follow up email asking if a decision had been made and received no answer. After 20 days, I was finally contacted that I was not selected and my expense reimbursement was in the mail. I responded asking if it would be possible to learn the reasoning of the decision and what my deficiencies were, in order to learn and improve for future engagements and never received a response.
I have been in this industry for over 30 years, both as a customer and now as a provider. I have had the pleasure of working with thousands of customers and other companies, such as Eagleview, and this experience was disappointing and to be honest I had made my decision not to accept the offer if one was presented. It was apparent to me that the company was internally confused and did not respect their employees or candidates.
