April 14: I received a referral for the role from a current employee April 16: I was invited to apply via the website, where I submitted my resume and other basic information April 27: Having not heard from the company in ten days, I followed up, and quickly received a response prompting me to fill out a supplemental application with in-depth questions regarding the admissions process, scenarios on how to advise applicants in specific circumstances, etc. I submitted the application within a day May 23: Having not heard from the company in nearly a month, I followed up for an update on my candidacy or their process timeline. I received no response. June 8: I again followed up with HR letting them know that I had received an offer from another college admissions coaching firm that would require a response within a few days, but that I would still like to be considered for Empowerly and that it would be great to receive an update on my candidacy or the process timeline. Again, I received no response. I am not sure if the process / communication is simply managed incompetently, or if the company has a policy of "ghosting" applicants who they choose not to hire, but either way this is pretty unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering the time investment (multiple hours) that was required to fill out the supplemental application.
