      Quality Assurance Interview

      Jun 1, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in May 2013

      Interview

I filled out an online application. Within the hour, I was sent a request to complete the Rembrant profile. After 2 business days, I was contacted by HR to set up a phone interview. I set it up for 2 days later. The phone screen was pretty straightforward, mostly just reviewing information on my application and general interview questions. I had the opportunity to ask questions and this step really felt like it was just as much for my benefit as for theirs. The next day, I was told that I would be hearing details about scheduling a remote set of assessments proctored online. As it was a Friday, I didn't hear back from ProctorU until Monday. I took the test on a Tuesday. It was supposed to take between 1.5-2 hours or more, but I managed to do it in one. There were four sections; programming (they teach you basic concepts and then ask you questions based on them. Each question tends to build on prior ones.), math (extremely simple), verbal (logic games as well as sentence editing), and 2-minute speed questions. Two days after the exam, I received an email from Epic telling me that they had received my results and would get back to me within 2 weeks. The next day, I was invited for an interview and sent in a list of preferred dates (on a Friday). On Monday, I heard back with details from the travel department and HR for travel plans on Thursday, interview on Friday. On Thursday, I went out with 3 other recruits and 2 Epic employees to an absolutely splendid dinner. Epic covers most travel expenses (save alcohol, souvenirs, sightseeing, pay-per-view, etc), so you have the option to eat dessert at your hotel. When I checked into the hotel, I was provided a folder, information about my taxi, and told about the complimentary breakfast. The next morning, I took a taxi with another recruit. When we got there, we were given folders with our exact agendas by HR and then whisked about from task to task. My day was fairly short compared to other people's, as I was only applying for one position. I had an overview with a QA'er, a case study, an HR interview, a tour of some of campus, a software demo, and lunch. At the end, I met with my HR Representative again and she told me that I should hear back during the next week. Afterwards, she took me to the library, where they took my picture (they attach the pictures to the resumes so that when discussing candidates, everyone knows they are referring to the same person), provided snacks and drinks, and called a taxi for myself and other recruits. A week later, I heard back and was extended the position.
