      Kitchen Assistant Interview

      Mar 14, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Mar 2014

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter via email about the position (I had applied to the same position earlier in the year with no offer). I took a personality profile online and scheduled an onsite interview. The day lasted from 8:30 until 3. Started off with a group of people who were all interviewing for different positions having breakfast and listening to a presentation about Epic and a software demo. Next I had to take a skills assessment on a computer. There were several parts to the assessment -- logic, math, language and a 2 minute timed test. The questions were fairly hard. Next I had lunch and a tour with a small group. After the tour I had an interview with Chef Eric Rupert, during which he showed me around the kitchen then asked a few basic interview questions. He mentioned that the interview is just a small part of their decision making process -- you have to do well on the skills assessment. Next was a culinary assessment which was a written short answer test with a variety of different questions relating to cooking, ingredients and food. Some of these were relatively hard for me as a self-taught cook. Lastly, there was an interview with HR. This was basically just going over your references and maybe 1 or 2 basic interview questions. No offer at the end of the day, but I will update once I hear back.
