      Intern - Hourly Interview

      Jan 10, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Epic

      Interview

The first part of the interview was a phone screening. They want to get to know you and see what you've done. They may ask one or two technical questions but they mostly want to know about previous projects you've done. The second part of the interview is the online assessment. You are proctored by someone while you take their 3-4 hour assessment. I thought it was time, but apparently it wasn't. It kinda sucked not being able to ask a question if you didn't understand exactly what their question was asking. The person proctoring has no idea what the assessment is about so they can't answer anything.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

During the phone interview they just asked about projects on my resume and about classes I've taken. They asked me things I learned, but nothing in depth. The online assessment had two parts. One part they had this section where they make up their own language and you answer questions about it. They test you on speed and accuracy, so I guess don't take your time. The assessment is not timed, but you should do it as quickly as you can since they look at how long it takes you. I forgot to do that :/. Then the second part, you are given 4 programming questions to do. One of them was a graph question.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Feb 2015

      Interview

Phone interview, nothing special. Ask about your resume and introduce you their company. There is a 3 hour assessment, which I think is the reason why I didn't get the offer. Be patient and pick a place to do it. It really took a while.

      Application

      Interview

I completed an online technical evaluation. It contained both SAT like questions and programming questions. The evaluation was proctored by someone watching me over my laptop webcam. The programming questions were very challenging and I suspect the technical evaluation was my weak point. I also had a phone interview with a software developer there and think that went well.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The most difficult problems were the programming problems. Brush up on performing short coding puzzles before taking the online evaluation.
