I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Eversource Energy (Boston, MA) in Jul 2022
Interview
Spoke with the HR representative. He was very nice. I spoke with the supervisor for the role and he was very rude. I did not pursue the role. The interview with the supervisor was over Zoom. The interview with HR was over the phone.
Overall the whole process was pretty disappointing. First, they have one of their recruiters call you and screen you before moving towards an in-person virtual interview with the manager, I was lucky enough to be afforded the opportunity to do so. HOWEVER, once the interview was completed I was told I qualified for the second round. Yay me right? Well one would think. I had to follow up 4 times just to confirm my second interview with the hiring manager. I was finally told that they would reach out to me. Nice right? Wrong again. After waiting for over a MONTH with occasional follow up emails I finally said "why not" and emailed the manager themselves. Where I was FINALLY told that I was no longer being considered.
Ok,.. 2 things here. 1) Why waste my time, energy and emotional capacity waiting for a reply back if I didn't get the position. 2) At what point WOULD I have gotten to hear back from someone if I had not followed up constantly?
People have bills, lives and things to need to do luckily for me I have a part-time job to hold me over till the full time career one comes in. BUT what kind of mess was that for an interview process?
My advice... if you get hired THAT'S AMAZING and I'm really proud of you. But be weary of how bad they are when it comes to follow ups and keeping you in the loop and keeping their word.
Best of Luck fellow job hunters. Salute.
