The application process was the standard Workday process. I didn’t get a follow up until a month and a half after I applied. I was informed that the original posting was filled internally, but they wanted to still meet with me. They called it their “Evergreen” hiring, which is a “talent pipeline” of applicants that they interview and score so they can offer the candidate in line when there is an opening. The recruiter told me that the hiring managers sometimes make exceptions to create a position in anticipation of an influx of work and that I’m a great candidate for that since I already do the job at a competitor. They were very aggressive with the interview scheduling and squeezed my two interviews within a couple of days of each other. I thought this was a good sign. I met with the hiring managers and they asked standard interview questions and I did well. I was told that I shouldn’t expect a response until November. The interview was in September. I followed up every 3-4 weeks and they would tell me that there are no positions opening soon. Mid-November 2022 rolls around and I ask the recruiter again. I was told that they are not hiring this year and will most likely hire in Q2 2023. They were persistent to ask me if I would still be interested at that time. If Evergreen is mentioned, I recommend not to waste your time or not have expectations of hearing back.

Pre-screen with the HR rep who was 10 minutes late to our call and seemed a bit scattered. Next, a video interview with the hiring manager, who was pleasant and asked reasonable but somewhat surface-level questions. Then, three video panel interviews of 45 minutes each. Total interview time about three hours, which is a considerable investment.
