      Project Coordinator Interview

      May 24, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Flipp (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I was invited to come in to their office for what they call an open house to meet with the Flipp team. I have to say that this was the first time I ever expereinced anything like this before and it was very cool!!! They have an amazing office and it was great to see it in person (I feel like this is what Google's office probably looks like in Toronto) and they give you a full tour of the place when you arrive which I thought was awesome. After you get the tour they take you into their kitchen/cafeteria area (which is amazing by the way!!!) where they have food and drinks for all the candidates and it gives you time to get to know the other candidates that have arrived. Once you get settled in, they start a brief intro session which is led by their Talent Manager (Vic) who spends time introducing the team and giving you a really clear picture about the company and what they are doing in the industry but also about the Flipp culture so you know what you are signing up for. After the info session and Q&A it turns into more of a networking session where you and 20 other candidates get the chance to speak to as many members of team as you like and it feels more like a conversation rather then an interview which I really liked! I really appreciated this style of interviewing because its not the same boring old questions like everywhere else and people don't put on these fake personas. You got to see everybody as they really are and the talent manger did a great job making everyone feel at home so we weren't all nervous when we arrived and I didn't feel like I was in competition with everyone because they told us there were multiple positions available. Cool office and team, and i think its great they are doing things differently then the rest of the city and I hope to be part of the team in the future.

      Interview

Phone interview in the first round followed by an in-person interview. The process is lengthy but it helps to weed out bad candidates. A presentation is needed in the last round which is fairly straight forward.

I applied online. I interviewed at Flipp (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2017

      Interview

Received a response for a phone interview a few days after I submitted my application. Phone interview (with HR) was mostly just a review of your experience. First in-person interview (Project Lead and Operations Manager) was similar, just more in-dept questions. Second in-person interview (Project Lead and Operations Director) was a presentation and questions about your fit into the Flipp culture.

      Project Coordinator Interview

      Sep 11, 2016

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Flipp in Aug 2016

      Interview

I was contacted for an initial phone interview by a recruiter after a few days of applying. She asked to me to reschedule the interview twice at the last minute. During the interview, I could hear a dog barking in the background which was distracting. She seemed to rush me through especially towards the end. One of the questions I asked at the was to get insight on the team I would be working with. Her answer was "What team?" She went on to describe the EA/PAs that work in the company and this is when I realized she was talking about a completely different position that I did not apply for. It left a bad impression that the recruiter messed up a crucial point as the actual job I applied for. Just from this point I would not have wanted to advance and seek employment if this is the type of unprofessional and disorganized behaviour the company represents.
