      Application

      I interviewed at Fractal (Bengaluru)

      Interview

Interview was for GenAI profile. The questions were around LangGraph, Langchain, vector db and python and pandas. The coding questions were on easy to medium level. It's important to know how to think about a GenAI usecase.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fractal (Bengaluru) in Jul 2026

      Interview

the platform was hackerearth, where an interviewer joined (using this platform for writing basic codes and some flow diagrams). asked questions on Risk Scoring for IT assets (dynamic risk scoring), assumptions of linear regression, then got asked few questions, like: 1. trained a model on 6-hourly time-series data, how do i predict for the next 1 hour with high accuracy, 2. i am training a ml model on cyclone tracks, then while testing how will the model perform well since the cyclone tracks vary frequently (whatever sense these questions make). then no further communication for weeks, ghosted altogether. imho the entire process seemed just bad and disappointing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. trained a model on 6-hourly time-series data, how do i predict for the next 1 hour with high accuracy (without interpolating the data or any other technique to break the data into 1-hour), 2. i am training a ml model on cyclone tracks, then while testing how will the model perform well since the cyclone tracks vary frequently

      I interviewed at Fractal

      Interview

I attended a one-hour AI/ML interview focused on Machine Learning fundamentals and practical applications. The discussion covered ML algorithms, model selection strategies, evaluation metrics, feature engineering, optimization techniques, and deployment challenges. The interview included conceptual, problem-solving, and scenario-based questions to assess both theoretical understanding and practical experience in AI/ML.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interview was primarily focused on Generative AI concepts and their practical applications. Questions covered Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, fine-tuning techniques, and AI agent frameworks. The interviewer also asked scenario-based questions on designing GenAI solutions, selecting appropriate architectures for different use cases, handling hallucinations, evaluating model performance, and addressing scalability, security, and deployment challenges. Additionally, there were discussions around real-world implementation of GenAI applications, model optimization, and best practices for building production-ready AI systems.
