The process was smooth overall. I had a total of 3 interviews which included one with the hiring manager. During the interview I was asked a lot of questions that seemed to be aimed at getting strategies for them to implement rather than truly consider me as a candidate. I didn’t feel they were intentional in finding a candidate who knew the DEI space well. It felt as if they wanted to just check off that they interviewed other candidates while they already had someone in mind. The recruiting team ghosted me for about 3 weeks and then finally said they moved on to another candidate. When I found out who they hired, I wasn’t suprised that this person was favored based on nepotism. You’re trying to build a diverse organization but you’re hiring with bias practices?! We have long way to go in tech.
