I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO (Philadelphia, PA) in Nov 2015
Interview
1. Applied Online
2. Online Personality Test
3. Phone Interview (not much of an interview, more informational than anything. Do you understand what an auto adjuster does? Are you willing to spend 3 months away from home for training? Where else are you applying? Are you able to work some weekends?)
4. Online Reading Comprehension Exam and Spatial Recognition Test while proctored over the phone by Geico employee (Focus on accuracy, not finishing)
5. Driving Record Check
6. Face to Face Interview: All S.T.A.R. questions. Situational/behavioral
7. Role-play. My roleplay: adjuster for computer supplies as opposed to cars. Given Instruction Book that is played over a tape recorder. Hanging on to these papers could be confusing. I tried to line them up as a reference guide....it was unnecessary and likely tripped me up. I'd push them to the side after carefully reading them while listening to the recording. Imagine being an adjuster and the likely scenarios you would be involved in. Irate customers, irate repair shop owners, etc. They came back in to hand instructions.
5 key aspects were outlined.
1. Ability to fill out a claims form. The person spoke rapidly (probably on purpose to throw you off)..maybe politely ask them to slow down so you don't miss any information. Fill out all paperwork as completely and accurately as possible!!!
2. Ability to Fill out an estimate form in front of walk-in customer. Upon entering the room, they handed me 3 sheets. Had i just focused on these 3 sheets I may have done better and been quicker. I had all these other papers in front of me and made the rookie mistake of misplacing one of the important papers i was handed so this drastically slowed me down, made me nervous and likely lowered my grade
3. Ability to map your route from your job to six different locations or more. Display time management skills and basic math.
4. Ability to deal with pissed off repair shop worker and NEGOTIATE. Be personable and negotiable while filling out paperwork as completely as possible.
5. Ability to deal effectively communicate with an irate customer calling you.
I was told I would be contacted within a week to notify me whether or not I obtained the position. From what I read, this means I did not get the position. After completing the role-play, there are a thousand things I would have done differently. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. You aren't given much instruction but it really does seem to give you an idea of the job. My advice: Be personable. Negotiate. Fill out paperwork completely. Don't let the mess of papers throw you off. Focus on the papers they place directly in your hands. Do not focus on the instruction book, just listen well and set it aside so as not to confuse yourself. And simply keep other FORMS accessible. Fill out forms properly and highlight your customer service skills and you'll have it in the bag! Best Wishes to you! My job search continues!

Interview
Very long and tedious. The role playing process was the hardest but the final interview was like a simple conversation about yourself. Just stay true to what the company values and your customer service skills and you’ll be fine.

Interview
Interview consists of several steps. Initially its pretty standard stuff but that leads to an online critical thinking test. This test is timed and is somewhat tricky. I received an email a few days later telling me I passed the test and they scheduled a brief phone interview which lasted only 15 minutes or so. Basic questions were asked and the job was described. During this interview i was told that I would be getting a more in depth phone interview the next week. The 2nd phone interview was rather difficult for me as I was asked to describe situations that I had not experienced. The worst part was when she described 4 typical scenarios that needed to be completed in 15 minutes. No details were provided and I was totally unfamiliar with how long these tasks should normally take. I was asked to prioritize the tasks and, obviously, failed. My interview only lasted 20 minutes and I got immediate impression that I was not going further. Rejection email followed 2 days later. I will only say this, if the job requires 4 things to be done in 15 minutes, I can't imagine what a typical day is like. Sometimes things work out for the best I guess.
