I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GNC (Philadelphia, PA) in Oct 2010
Interview
Submitted a resume, got a call in a couple weeks. I went into the store and the manager showed me around the store and asked me what I knew about certain products. I knew a little bit going in, about protein powders and vitamins. Said I was a "smart" guy and asked me when I could start. Know a little bit about supplements and you should be alright.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is protein for? (Not a hard question, but this is what they are about generally.)
Easy interview since the person really needed someone to hold the cashier position. All I had to prove was that I could do math and if I was available during the week.
Lied to during interview about bonus, never received any compensation. Non existent don’t count on getting anything other than hourly
Hourly pay is very low, not worth the effort due to manager responsibilities
The interview process was pretty straightforward and simple. If I might add, was very standard as well. Know a little about products and supplements, health and fitness, and you will be golden
