The process took 1 day. I interviewed at General Mills in Oct 2011
Interview
I initially met with GM representatives at a career fair on campus. They seemed impressed by my resume and experiences, so I pursued an interview with them a few weeks later. I attended a pre-night presentation about the company and was really excited about all of the benefits they offered. However, the interview itself was focused on purely negative behavioral interview questions (tell me about a problem you couldn't resolve, tell me about a time when things didn't go your way, tell me about a time when you struggled with a group, etc.). It made me feel like I didn't have the opportunity to show them my true strengths since little to no questions were framed in a positive way; as a senior in college (in an honors business program) I hadn't had that many negative experiences!

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) in Oct 2025
Interview
- 2 on 1 for the first interview
1 of them was asking questions and 1 of them was taking notes. Felt pretty intense, they never got back to me and said I would hear back after a week. I then reached out and they responded immediately saying I did not get the job.
Applied online and then interviewed over a zoom call. Straightforward and easy. Two rounds. Some online personality questions as well. Overall a good experience. Different interview lets each round both current employees.
