Interview
Exploratory 1 on 1 interview with hiring manager. Very pleasant and wide ranging.
I believe they were fact finding to plan future staffing and not ready to hire.
Other candidates in the waiting room met first with the HR department.
I was recruited by HR by telephone for one position but when I entered the interview it was for a different position. The interview was with 2 people. The process seemed unorganized and I would not have taken the interview had I known I was not being considered for that position.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Gensler (Boston, MA) in Nov 2017
Interview
First interview was with two Associates and went very well. The Associates were engaged, interested, thoughtful, and very professional. Second interview was with two Principals and one of them fell asleep! LESSON: Don't take an interview time on a Friday afternoon! Got a form e-mail rejection letter several weeks later despite my hand written "thank yous", email invitation to the design school studio where I teach, and follow up with a "friend" who works there. Overall was an excellent negative experience and answered questions regarding type of culture and leadership.
