This was the strangest interview I’ve ever had. My initial instinct was to stay far away. After initial conversation the process then moved to an odd timed math test with a few managerial questions sprinkled in. After which I received a request for another call where it was discussed I now had to do the same test while somebody stared at me on skype! The entire situation was odd to say the least but more importantly a company basing such important decisions on a timed test allowing 18 seconds per question and then stating you can’t use a calculator is a little 1982. Where’s the typewriter? Questions that have little to no value regarding the position itself and worded math problems that take 10 seconds just to read and understand how bob and Fran got on the train another 3 seconds to look at the choices and 5 seconds left to figure the math with paper and pencil? The company itself seemed toxic, the pay low and based on this interview process I have serious concerns regarding the talent on board. Might I advise a more traditional interview process where you discuss the candidates experience and ability to actually do the job. Overall I would be highly surprised if you found anybody working there that is happy. I followed through out of professional courtesy as I don’t like to make decisions without being completely informed. However, I would most likely not have accepted an offer from this company unless I had no other choice.
