Everything seemed smooth and normal and I was very excited when I was told I'd be getting an offer. Until I received the offer and it was for a different position (non senior) with an obviously different salary budget. It would have been nice to know that this change was made so I could have had a choice if I wanted to keep going with the process instead of wasting my time and theirs. I was still interested in the company so I tried to negotiate and was even more insulted when they came back with 1k more (still way below what was even discussed in the phone interview) as if they had to squeeze it out of people's hands. All in all, it was a bait n' switch, whether it was in bad faith or not, that's for them to live with but it was extremely unprofessional for what I thought was a great company to possibly work for. Shout out to Matthew, because although he never told me about the title change, was in constant communication and was very easy to deal with.
