      Interview

Overall interview experience was okay but somewhat disorganized and longer than expected. The process started with a typical recruiter phone screen followed by a virtual meeting with the hiring manager. Both conversations were straightforward and aligned with the job description. The next step was an onsite panel interview which lasted roughly four hours. This felt excessive for the role and became repetitive over time. The first interviewer was professional and the conversation flowed naturally with behavioral questions and introductions. The second interviewer appeared disengaged throughout the discussion (eye-rolling, minimal interaction), which made the conversation uncomfortable and difficult to navigate. It was unclear whether this was intentional pressure testing or lack of interest. The third interviewer spent a significant portion of the time discussing how overworked and burnt out the team currently is. While transparency is appreciated, it came across more as a warning than an overview of the role. The final meeting was a wrap-up conversation with the hiring manager. Overall, the panel suggested the team was seeking skills and responsibilities beyond what was listed in the job posting. The expectations did not fully align with the advertised role. Advice to Management: Consider shortening the panel length, aligning interview expectations with the job description, and ensuring interviewers present a consistent and professional experience for candidates.
