I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HSBC in Apr 2025
Interview
Interview process was spread over two months. Job title and contract length changed after applying. 1 recruiter interview, 1 valued based assessment, 1 on-demand video, and 1 in-person interview. It’s never a good sign when you have to chase the Talent team for confirmation on the job details or to schedule the interview. Zoom link for the interview didn’t work. Expect to be ghosted if you ask for final stage feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basic competency questions, nothing out of the ordinary.
The interview process was straightforward and well organised. I first submitted my application online and was later contacted by the recruitment team to arrange a face-to-face interview for a manager position. The interview took place at the company’s office and lasted around 45 minutes. I met with two interviewers, including a senior manager and a representative from HR. They asked about my previous management experience, leadership style, problem-solving skills, and how I would handle difficult situations within a team. There were also several competency-based questions, and I was asked to provide examples from my previous roles. The interviewers were professional, friendly, and gave me enough time to explain my answers. At the end, they described the role, team structure, and next steps in the recruitment process. I am currently still waiting to hear back about the final outcome.
the overall interview is totally a happy one, no harsh time
the time that i have an interview with is a one to one personal interview with the line manager
Doesn't explain why they rejected, interviewer sounds dismissive. When asked for reason, they did not get back nor explain the reason for rejection. I think it is important to have common courtesy
