I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hachette UK (London, England) in Aug 2008
Interview
Having arrived in the area rather early, I toddered about for a bit before entering the building 10 minutes before my scheduled interview. This seemed to catch the primary interviewer rather off-guard, but he recovered admirably as I sat about for twenty minutes. Following that, it was really a pleasant chat with two potential superiors about the position's remit, the company's books, my own interests, and of course my relevant experience. It was rather evident by this point it probably wasn't a splendid fit, but I went ahead with the brief skills test anyway, bid them a good day, and left, no more than ninety minutes having passed.

Question 1
One of the higher-ups for whom I would be doing significant work was described in pleasant terms as difficult and often absent, but still quite demanding. A small series of questions about how well I was likely to adapt to that were noteworthy for the inanity with which one felt compelled to answer them. Clearly distinctive personalities are both strength and weakness here.
