The process consisted of just one 30-minute interview with the hiring manager. The reason I am giving a thumbs down rating is that the company was not transparent about the salary, which was barely above a liveable wage in Richmond with taxes ($24). Also, the experience with recruitment was not the best—an incorrect internship length was written in the offer letter, and they were not able to correct the letter within the offer window. The recruiter knew that I wasn't the happiest with the salary, and went ahead and withdrew my application without explicitly saying so—even though I couldn't have signed the offer letter anyway because the internship length was still wrong. Then, she justified her decision based on the fact that I was difficult to reach the morning of the offer and emailed her my questions about the role toward the end of the offer window. (She seemed to interpret this as a lack of interest/responsiveness.) I can somewhat understand where she's coming from, as she's looking for candidates who are excited about the role, but I think many things could have been done better as well.
