Learned about open position through coworkers at former job (i.e. same office building). Applied online, contacted by interested recruiter who wanted to set up phone interview. Conducted phone interview, which went well. Instructed via email to go through electronic press kit, which included a staggering number of hyperlinks (approximately 150 - 200), set up formal interview date and schedule (over two hours long, with five different employees). Went to interview(s). Informed over email almost three weeks later that there was quite a bit of competition for the position and that I had been eliminated because the credentials of the other candidates were a better fit. (I had a feeling that they must have hired someone with a degree, because that's one of the only things I could think of that could stand out besides work experience. Honestly, I was very surprised and a little frustrated that I didn't get the position, considering that I waited for nearly three weeks for a final answer.0 I felt that all of the interviews went well, I had plenty of experience doing the work they wanted for the position, and I already knew the building's layout. Looking back, I think the EPK is standard for this company, but I didn't think it was very necessary to the position I was applying for. Maybe an EPK with links to 200 YouTube videos or interviews with five different employees is normal for an analyst, customer service rep or even a management position, it was certainly a very unique and busy interview day for me.)
