There was a video interview with the hiring manager for the positions. She asked a few common interview questions (see the interview questions section). After the video interview, I was informed that the next process would be to provide professional references through Harver. I received an email with a link to set up my profile on Harver to begin sending invitation emails to my references. Prior to submitting references, I contacted my references asking if they had availability and would be willing to be 1 of 7 of my references. After which, I started sending my references the link to complete feedback. My references knowing how excited I was about the position completed and submitted their feedback promptly (this was the end of the week so they took time out of their weekend). On Monday I reached out to the hiring manager letting her know that 60% of my references had completed their submissions and the other 40% would be complete before the middle of the week. The hiring manager responded by asking for my availability for a video call with the VP and direct team members. I promptly responded with my availability to interview. After running errands (taking the car to the mechanic and grocery shopping) I returned home and checked my emails. I noticed that my scheduled interviews had been canceled along with an email from the hiring manager stating "As part of our diligent reference checking process, we ask that candidates answer a few questions. Your status in the hiring process depends on your prompt reply to this email." and then there was another email from the hiring manager stating that I was no longer being considered for the role due to discrepancies with my references. At this point, I am bewildered as to what the discrepancies are and honestly frustrated that I did not even have an opportunity to respond to the initial email! I respond to the email by providing information about my interaction with each of my references along with their job titles and the company/ department from which we worked. Further, I provided screenshots of the initial messages I sent to each reference asking them to provide feedback as 1 of 7 of my professional references. I did/ have not heard back from the hiring manager! I reached out to former colleagues/ friends that were kind enough to invest their time by completing feedback, and she didn't have the consideration to respond to my emails asking for clarification as to what discrepancies were found in my reports... which is why I labeled my interview experience as negative.
