I applied online. I interviewed at Hy-Vee (Olathe, KS) in Sep 2016
Interview
I applied online, two weeks later I received a phone call setting up an interview at the store. The interview itself took twenty minutes and consisted of a few questions. After it was over I was told to come back the following Thursday for a drug test. About a week and a half later I was hired part-time.

Question 1
Tell me of a time there was a problem and how you chose to respond?
Very straight forward with little hard skills required. Mostly basics on background. Previous experience not necessary. The job is quite flexible on hours and scheduling, but it does depend on location obviously.
Very easy, took less than 30 minutes and asked very simple questions to get a feel for your personality. It’s a very simple role so this is not that surprising.
Not very difficult in my opinion. This is a checker position--they are just trying to understand basic values and decency. Which shouldn't be a problem as long as you have them.
No prep required, I would say.
