I applied for a permanent Payroll Controller position in Melbourne Australia on Sept 9. They did not get back to me till Oct 10 with some speel pretending they were busy. I had the interview and then they will get back to me that week and 2 weeks go by. They kept me hanging as they couldn't find anyone. Then they rang for a second interview and interrogated me why a left other positions that I been there for years and had to go very in-depth on my experience. Then they said they might give me a 6 Month contract as a technical lead position and then they abruptly said they will get back to me another 2 weeks as other people to interview. No mention of salary either. Then I realised they advertised the permanent payroll controller job through recruitment agencies and it sounds like they wanted me for 6 months to train the new payroll lead then boot me as most likely I'd have more experience. I sent them an email I'm not interested in position anymore as the conditions and atmosphere does not sound good. They replied and said that's my perspective. I had to end it by middle of November so since applying was going on for 2.5 months and counting. Also the position was very technical and end to end and the compensation did not match that as they asked me what salary I was on. Dodgy all round.
