This is my dream job. Working with people in my age range, sharing similar interests, working/living in the city, and being able to dress like a political machine are all important qualities to me and this job fits all of them. I was overjoyed by the opportunity to interview with them and counted down the days until my interview. I went out with my mom to buy an interview outfit and practiced my heart out. A recruiter helped me along the way and advised me that I would be meeting with multiple people and advised me to let my personality shine (which is not a problem for me). The day of the interview rolled around, my recruiter called and provided me with some tips and encouraging words. I arrived at the office building ten minutes early and was greeted by an employee, after I walked off the elevator and into the office, and was placed in a small conference room. I waited no longer than ten minutes for someone to come in and meet with me. We chatted, he asked if I had any questions about the interview process (I would be meeting with two or three other people) and I said I didn’t. An Account Manager came to speak with me and describe the job/benefits/salary. We chatted about interests and weekend activities but it felt very rushed. Thirty minutes into the interview she was walking me out saying she had an office meeting to get to. Some of her colleagues walked out in front of us, I'm assuming to get to the meetings, and she shook my hand and wished me a good rest of my day. I expected to meet with more people. I expected to be given a chance to let my personality shine. I did not expect to be rushed out because they scheduled me so close to the end of the day and so close to an "office meeting." This job is everything I have ever wanted and I feel like I wasn’t even given a chance to show them that I would be a perfect fit.
