Insmed interview questions

September 2024 a recruiter for insmed reached out to me on LinkedIn and thought that my resume would be a great fit for the Associate Director position. She mentioned that they were hiring for multiple AD roles. We had a great conversation in regard to my resume and experience and she scheduled me an interview with the hiring manager. I had a interview with the hiring manager the following week. She did not review my résumé and She did not ask me any formal questions around my resume. We just had a casual conversation. She mentioned that the recruiter would reach out to me to schedule the next step. Here we are on the third interview. I met with the hiring manager again along with another lady who mentioned she was in a different department. The interview lasted for an hour. The new lady asked more formal interview questions, and behavioral questions. Very intense interview but I felt that I nailed it, simply because I’ve been doing this for 11 years. We are now on the fourth interview with two other random ladies the same day. They asked me formal questions as well. BUT all of the questions I asked them in regards to the position they did not know simply because they were not in that department I was applying for. Two weeks then go by and i get a generic email saying that they went with other candidates. This process was very daunting. It was a month long of interviews and they also asked me for References. Only to get a generic email saying they’re going with other candidates. So I emailed the recruiter and asked was there any feedback left or anything that I could work on? Very vague reply saying nothing in particular we’ll reach out if there are other opportunities. Overall this company interview process was a 4 out of 10. majority of the questions I asked in the interview in regards to this new launch they did not have answers. And with a new launch you always have to have a plan B. Because the FDA may not approve it when you think they are. So I asked a lot of questions i already knew the answers too from previous new launches.

As a preface, I initially applied on 5/15 to a Director Field Access Manager role about 5 months prior to the FAM role (see below). Through sporadic emails with the recruiter, it took until 7/1 to schedule a 30 minute virtual meeting with the hiring manager. Overall the conversation was quite standard, but I could tell she did not review my resume until that very moment. She compared my time spent in a leadership role to other candidates and stated that she has to go with those others who already have 5-10 years more previous management experience. I can understand that, but I don't know why this wasn't apparent to her already from my resume and so she could have saved us both the time. As a consolation she mentioned the FAM team would be expanding and hoped that I would be interested in that upcoming role with the organization. Since the start date was off in the following year, I said absolutely but I'd have to see where I am at that point in time. I closed the loop with the recruiter and she agreed that we'll continue on about the expansion. Fast forward, I received an email blast from Insmed about the FAM expansion roles on 9/9. Since I already knew the recruiter from before, I reached out directly, but received no response. I restarted the process and applied for a regular Field Access Manager role in my local territory. 10/3 I received a generic rejection, so I never got to a human interaction this time.
