I went in person to multiple locations and filled out an application on the spot. I received an interview at two locations and I met with a manager at each location for a rather low-key interview. After interviewing, I expressed interest in which location I preferred and a few days later received a call with an offer at that location.

Interview
I applied online, then I called the store and notified them that I had just applied. They pulled my application and sent me an interview with store manager. Interview lasted about 15 minutes, no additional interviews.
At least for the holiday season, they contact you in the fall to begin the interview process. Pretty straightforward questions. I met with 2 of the managers. Company gets back to you within a couple of weeks.

The whole process finished in less than 15 mins. It went very smooth and casual. Ask about my background and any retail experience, why do I want to work at J.crew and these very typical questions.
