I am writing to detail a highly frustrating and unprofessional recruitment experience for the Junior Quality Engineer position. The lack of basic communication after I had invested significant time and effort was unacceptable.
1. Interview Stages: I successfully passed the initial screening and a subsequent functional interview with team members. The process appeared to be progressing well.
2. Assignment Investment: I was given a complex take-home assignment which I dedicated four full days of work to complete and submit.
3. Complete Silence: Following the assignment submission, I received no communication or update for \bm{2.5} weeks. I sent a follow-up email requesting a status update but received no reply from the recruitment team.
4. Disrespectful Outcome: I had to discover on my own that the position had been closed.
To spend four days on a technical assignment and then be completely ghosted is a significant discourtesy. It is a fundamental expectation that a company provides a formal status update and rejection notice to candidates who have invested this much time in their process, especially after submitting completed work.
This reflects poorly on the candidate experience and respect for applicants' time.
