I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG in May 2020
Interview
It was technical in terms of audit knowledge. Best to prepare answers regarding your prior experience as well. Fuss free and usually with the hiring manager, it was not overly stressful as the hiring manager was really very smiley and friendly throughout the entire interview process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe audit process for a particular financial statement assertion
The first half is a case study where you discuss and then present, entirely in English. Right after, you’ll have a direct interview with a partner in Chinese. There aren't any technical questions, it's mainly behavioral!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you handle situations where you have a different opinion from your colleagues?
The interviewer began by explaining the team, its responsibilities, the projects they were working on, and the overall team culture. They also briefly described what they were looking for in a candidate and what it would be like to work on the team. Most of the interview focused on behavioral questions rather than technical ones, with follow-up questions to better understand my past experiences and decision-making process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It has been about two years since my interview, so I do not remember the specific questions. But I remember that the behavioral questions felt a bit more serious than in my other interview experiences. My interviewer had a very calm and serious demeanor, which may have contributed to that impression. Based on conversations with others, the experience seems to vary depending on the interviewer you are assigned.
