Interview
It is definitely extensive, but it also digs deep into making sure that it is the job that you want. You start off with the recruiter as a “get to know you” stage, and then you move on to talking to the hiring managers, the VPs, and so on. The more you advance in the process, the more specific you have to be with your questions and it can require doing some research about the company. I definitely recommend coming prepared with more specific questions about the role and how your role/your team plays a role in the company’s future.

Interview
First interview with a recruiter, pretty basic. Second interview was with the hiring manager. It was less than ten minutes and I think I asked more questions than the manager. At first I thought this meant I had it in the bag, but I think the manager wasn’t even interested in even getting to know me or seriously considering me a candidate. Over five weeks went by with me checking each week on an update on “final steps”. Six weeks later, they finally let me know they promoted an internal candidate for the position. They let me know I could apply for another position. Spoke to that hiring manager, it went very well and he assured me that I would speak to someone else very shortly. Emailed my new recruiter asking for an update. Weeks go by, the position has been removed from the website.
If you apply for a job here, just be prepared for the hiring manager/recruiter letting you know you made it to the next round and then they will ghost you. Might be because it’s a disorganized startup and the recruiters are overwhelmed, but who knows. Makes me think I dodged a bullet.
