I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in Apr 2013
Interview
I initially applied on Snag A Job and a week later I was called in for an interview and discussed the pay and when I would have to come in for training. After she gave me a drug test on the spot, a few days later I got a call to come in for training. I trained on a computer, watched videos and answered quizzes for a few days and then put on the floor to officially start. The whole interview process was relaxed and fun. Human Resources and I were joking and laughing and when other employees came into the training room everyone was laughing and joking around. It was nice to see that HR was close to the employees.

Question 1
What would make you a great candidate for working with us here at Lowe's?
I applied online. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Harrisonburg, VA) in Sep 2014
Interview
Received phone call from HR director to set up interview. Interviewed first with HR director. Six questions that consisted of only "Tell me about a time when..." scenarios. Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond for a customer; tell me about a time when you told a customer the wrong information and what you did to correct it; tell me about a time when you dealt with an angry customer; etc. After that interview, the HR director set up an interview with the supervisor over the Customer Service/Return Desk. That interview also consisted of "Tell me about a time when" questions. I think they grade your responses as you answer. I was disappointed because they said they would be in touch with all interviewees to let them know of their decision, one way or the other, yet they never gave me a call back. It's unprofessional to leave people hanging.

They weren't that difficult, it's just difficult if you've never been in one of those situations.
